This Android 5.0 Lollipop themed ROM is compatible only and only with Samsung Galaxy Ace with model number GT-S5830i. Do not flash this on any other device or variant. If flashed, your device may get damaged permanently. Its better to check your device’s model number from Menu->Settings–>About Phone before moving ahead.
- Make sure you have charged you galaxy Ace S5830i at least up to 60% so as to minimize the risk of interruption during the flashing process.
- Backup all your phone data and settings including contacts, messages, call logs, memos etc. to external SD card or on your PC. This is recommended as everything gets wiped in the last step of this procedure.
- Backup EFS folder present in your phones system directory. This folder contains all your phones specific information such as the IMEI, wireless devices MAC addresses, product code, and much more. Procedure to install Android 5.0 Lollipop on Galaxy Ace S5830i:
Step 1: Download both the zip package files in a specific folder on your computer. Do not extract them.
Step 2: Now connect your Galaxy Ace S5830i to computer using original USB data cable and copy these zip package files on your phones external SD card.
Note: You may directly download the files on your phone.
Step 3: Now safely disconnect your Galaxy Ace from computer and power it off. Then boot your phone into CWM recovery mode. For doing so, simultaneously press and hold Home button (middle button) + Power button till you enter recovery mode.
Note: Touch won’t work in recovery mode. So use Volume keys for navigating up and down and use Home button for selection.
Step 4: As you land into recovery, take Nandroid backup of your currently using ROM. Nandroid backup is the backup of your phones entire operating system & is always helpful during the failure while flashing process or during any problem with the ROM. In that case you can easily restore your previous saved ROM.

Step 5: Now wipe the data and cache partitions from your phones internal memory. For doing the same, navigate to the ‘wipe data/factory reset’ option using volume keys. Select it using Home button. On the next screen press Yes option to start the wiping process. Similarly navigate to the ‘wipe cache partition’ option and select it to wipe the caches. Note that this step will clear entire data from your phones internal memory including contacts, messages, apps, memos, call logs etc. Thus a complete backup of everything must be done before implementing this step.
Step 6: Return to the main menu and select the Advanced option located on the recovery mode itself. On the next screen select Reboot Recovery option.
Wait until you boot again into recovery.
Let’s move to the actual Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM flashing process.
Step 7: Using Volume keys navigate to the ‘install zip from SD card’ option. Select it using Home button. Then on the next screen select ‘choose zip from SD card’ option. This will show you all the data present on your phones external SD card. Use Volume keys and navigate to the Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM which you’ve copied earlier. Select it using Home button. On the next screen select ‘Yes’ option to start the actual Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM flashing process. Be patient and wait for some time to complete the process successfully.
Step 8: After the flashing process completes successfully, again wipe data/cache partitions from the recovery. For doing so select ‘wipe data/factory reset’ option and ‘wipe cache partition’ option. This step is must to solve the boot loop issue.
Step 9: Now flash the Google Apps (GApps) zip package file similarly as you have flashed the ROM.
Note: Do not wipe data/cache after flashing Google Apps.
Step 10: That’s all! Just restart your Galaxy Ace S5830i by selecting ‘reboot system now’ option from the recovery mode. The first boot takes more time to start than usual. But don’t worry after a couple of boots it’ll be normal.
Note: If you want to restore back your previous ROM, then boot into recovery mode, select the ‘Backup and Restore’ option and on next screen select ‘Restore’ option. Then select one of the saved ROM you want to restore.
