Install Android 7.1.1 Nougat Lineage OS 14.1 ROM on Galaxy A5. Looking at the Galaxy A5, it’s quite clear that Samsung has definitely brought some of the high-quality specs down to a mid range smartphone. After a long wait, recently Samsung officially launched the Android 6.0.2 Marshmallow firmware for this smartphone.

There are very less chances that Samsung will officially release the Android 7.0 Nougat OS for Galaxy A5. So it’s always a better choice to go for the unofficial third-party custom ROMs instead of waiting for the latest official firmware. This way you can enjoy and experience the latest specs of the newly launched Android update. There are many Android developers out there who are constantly working on various devices just to provide you with the latest versions unofficially.

This Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based Lineage OS 14.1 ROM is only for the Samsung Galaxy A5 smartphone. Do not flash this ROM on any other device or variant.

  • Lack of battery power can increase the chances of interruption during the flashing process. Hence make sure that your Galaxy A5 is charged at least up to 60%.
  • It is highly recommended to backup all your important phone data including your contacts, apps, SMS/MMS, call logs, memos and APN settings etc. before proceeding ahead. This is essential as everything gets wiped in the last step of this procedure. You may refer to any backup app for doing the same.
  • Your Samsung Galaxy A5 must have Root access. Also, a custom recovery like Clockworkmod (CWM) or TWRP must be installed to flash this custom ROM. Refer to our guide to do the same:
  1. How to Root and install TWRP custom recovery on Galaxy A5 smartphone.
  • Install mobile specific drivers on your computer to detect the phone when connected. You can install them from the Samsung Kies CD which you’ve got at the time of purchase or just manually install them from the link given below.
  1. Download the latest Samsung USB Drivers.
  • A complete backup of the EFS folder present in your phone’s system directory must be done. It contains all your phones specific information such as the IMEI, wireless devices MAC addresses, product code, and much more. If by mistake this folder gets wiped out then your device will be completely useless & will no longer be recognized by your carrier. Refer to our article to backup and restore EFS/IMEI data:
