Update Galaxy S4 mini I9192 to Android 4.4.2 DDUCOF2 KitKat firmware. As its name says, Galaxy S4 mini GT-I9192 is nothing but the smaller version of the famous Galaxy S4. Launched in July 2013, Galaxy S4 mini (also known as Galaxy S4 mini duos) comes with a 4.30 inches touchscreen and 540 x 960 pixels of resolution. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor with 1.5 GB of RAM.
It also includes 8 GB of internal memory storage, which can be easily expanded up to 64 GB. This smaller replica of the Galaxy S4 has a shiny and glossy plastic body with a thin bezel and metal band. Samsung released this smartphone with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. Try to flash this official Android 4.4.2 DDUCOF2 KitKat firmware at your own risk. If your Galaxy S4 mini gets damaged or bricked by following these steps, then remember that you and only you will be responsible for that. So it is highly recommended that you follow and implement every given step correctly without implementing anything independently.
This official Android 4.4.2 DDUCOF2 KitKat firmware update is only compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini with the model number GT-I9192. Do not try to install this firmware update on any other device or variant as it may result in unwanted outcomes or bricked devices.
- Charge your Galaxy S4 mini at least up to 60% as a lack of battery power can increase the chances of interruption during the flashing process.
- Before proceeding further, back up all your important phone data and settings. This is just as every single data gets wiped out after installing this firmware update.
- Install mobile-specific drivers on your computer to detect your Galaxy S4 mini when you connect it. You can install the mobile drivers from Samsung Kies CD, which you’ve got at the time of purchase, or just manually install them from the link given below.
- (Optional) Disable all the security tools as well as antivirus that are installed on your computer temporarily. They may increase the risk of interruption during the firmware installation process.
Steps to install DDUCOF2 stock ROM on Galaxy S4 mini I9192
1: Download and extract both of the above files to a convenient location on your computer.
2: Power off your Galaxy S4 mini I9192 completely until it vibrates.
3: Then boot your phone into downloading mode. For booting into download mode, press and hold the ‘Home button + Power button + Volume down key’ simultaneously until you see a warning message. Leave all the keys as you see the warning message window.
4: Now, keeping the phone as it is, connect it to your PC using the micro USB cable. Now just press the Volume up button to continue. This will directly land your Galaxy S4 mini I9192 into downloading mode. Refer to the screenshot below.
5: On the PC, launch the downloaded ‘Odin Multi Downloader3-v3.12.7′ software which you’ve just received after extraction. As soon as you launch it, the ID: COM section located at the top left corner will turn light blue. Also, an Added message will appear in the message box window. This will confirm that your Galaxy S4 mini I9192 has been successfully connected to your computer.
Note: If such a thing doesn’t happen, then it’s more likely to be a problem with the mobile-specific drivers. So just confirm whether you’ve properly installed the mobile-specific drivers on your computer or not. You can install them via Samsung Kies or manually install them from the links given in the Pre-Requisites section. If the problem persists, try changing the USB cable or the USB port.
6: Now go to the Options tab located on the Odin window. There you’ll see the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options. Tick only these two options and keep all the other options as they are.
Note: Do not tick the Re-partition option as it may increase the risk of bricking your device.
7: Now, click on the AP button on the Odin window and browse to the firmware package file you’ve downloaded (I9192DDUCOF2_I9192ODDCOF2_I9192DDUCOF2_HOME.tar.md5) and select it.
8: Then initiate the firmware flashing process. For doing so, just press the Start button located on the Odin window.
Note: While the process goes on, your phone will boot itself automatically. Do not interrupt the firmware flashing process by disconnecting the micro USB cable from the PC.
9: Wait until the flashing process completes successfully. It will take hardly a few minutes. When the flashing process completes, you’ll see that the ID: COM section on the Odin window has turned green with the message ‘Pass’ on it. Also, your Galaxy S4 mini I9192 will restart itself automatically. This will confirm that the official Android 4.4.2 DDUCOF2 KitKat firmware has been successfully flashed on your Samsung Galaxy S4 mini I9192 smartphone. Now you may remove the micro USB cable to safely disconnect your phone from the PC.
Note: If this flashing process fails or if Odin gets stuck, or in case your phone gets stuck into the boot loop, then close the Odin window, again go into downloading mode and implement the same procedure as given above.
Awesome! Your Samsung Galaxy S4 mini GT-I9192 smartphone has been successfully upgraded to the latest official Android 4.4.2 DDUCOF2 KitKat firmware update. Go to Menu->Settings->About Phone and confirm the same. Note that this is an official stock update rolled out by Samsung and is not any kind of unofficial third-party custom ROM.
