Pre-Requisites

  • Lack of battery power might interrupt the process. Hence ensure to charge your phone to a minimum of 50%.

Steps to Install Android 10 on Samsung Galaxy S4

  • Connect your phone to a PC and copy the zip files on your phone.
  • If you don’t have a PC, then you may directly download the files on your phone.
  • Power off your phone to boot it into TWRP recovery.
  • Now press and hold Volume Up button + Power button simultaneously.
  • As soon as you notice the TWRP logo, leave both the buttons.
  • If you face any problems then try the TWRP Manager app from Google Play Store.
  • This is how you can reboot Samsung Galaxy S4 into the TWRP recovery mode.
  • Once you land into TWRP, take Nandroid backup. This is the backup of your current Android OS.
  • Now tap on the Wipe button from the main menu.

  1. S4 has multiple architectures. This does not work towards the *ks01lte* series (GY-I9506). The article should point this out and let us know which version of S4 the linageOS is buildt for. Appart from that it is a well writen piece.

  2. when flashing the rom, failed with error as follows:
    E : unknown command [log]
    E: error executing updater binary in zip ‘/external_sd/lineage-17.0-20200110-unofficial.zip’
