Install Android 10 ROM on Samsung Galaxy S4

Pre-Requisites:

  • Lack of battery power might interrupt the process. Hence ensure to charge your phone to minimum 50%.
  • Backup contacts, apps, messages and accounts etc. for safety.
  • In order to detect your phone, install latest USB drivers on PC.

Let’s start Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 10 ROM flashing process.

Steps to Install Android 10 on Samsung Galaxy S4:


Step 1: Download LineageOS 17 ROM.

Step 2: Download GApps.

Note: Do NOT extract these zip files.

Step 3: Connect your phone to PC and copy the zip files on your phone.

Note: If you don’t have PC, then you may directly download the files on your phone.

Step 4: Power off your phone to boot it into TWRP recovery.

Step 5: Now press and hold Volume Up button + Power button simultaneously. As soon as you notice the TWRP logo, leave both the buttons.

Note: If you face any problem then try TWRP manager app from Google Play Store.

This is how you can reboot Samsung Galaxy S4 into TWRP recovery mode.

Step 6: Once you land into TWRP, take Nandroid backup. This is the backup of your current Android OS.

Step 7: Now tap on Wipe button from the main menu.

Step 8: Then, swipe right to begin wiping process.

Note: This step will wipe out your phone data and settings. Hence take backup before this step.

Step 9: From the main screen, again tap on Wipe button.

Step 10: Then click on Advanced Wipe button.

Step 11: Select Dalvik / ART cache, System, Data and cache partitions.

Note: Do NOT tick any other partitions.

Step 12: On the next screen, swipe right to start wiping process.

We’ll start the Samsung Galaxy S4 Lineage OS 17 ROM flashing process now.

Step 13: For that, click on Install option.

This will show your files and folders.

Step 14: Just navigate and select the Android 10 ROM from the files.

Swipe right to begin the Galaxy S4 Lineage OS ROM installation.

Wait until the flashing process completes.

Step 15: Similarly flash GApps zip (Google Apps) package file. Refer below screenshot:

Step 16: Finally, restart your phone from Reboot » System option.
