- It is strongly recommended to backup your contacts, apps, messages, call logs and notes etc. This is essential as all the phone data and setting gets wiped out in this process.
- Backup EFS folder present in your system directory. This folder contains your phones IMEI, wireless devices MAC addresses, and product code etc. If this folder gets deleted, then your phone will no longer be recognized by carrier. Refer our guide:

- Root your Samsung Galaxy Core 2.

Step 3: Power off your device and restart it into CWM recovery mode. For that, press & hold Volume up + Home button (middle button) + Power button simultaneously till your device lands into CWM recovery.
Note: Touch won’t work in CWM recovery mode (unless you’ve installed touch recovery). So use Volume keys for navigating up and down and use Home button for selection.

After taking backup, you need to wipe data and cache partitions from the device memory.
Step 4: For that, navigate to the ‘wipe data/factory reset’ option using volume keys. Select it using Home button. On the next page, click on Yes option to initiate the wiping process. Similarly navigate to the ‘wipe cache partition’ option and clear the cache.
Note: This step will wipe out entire data present on your phone. Hence make sure that you have backed up evea complete backup of everything must be done before implementing this step.
Step 5: Return to the main menu and select the Advanced option. On the next screen select Reboot Recovery option.
This will restart you galaxy Core 2 back into CWM recovery.
Step 6: Click on the ‘install zip from SD card’ option from the main menu. On the next page, select ‘choose zip from SD card’ option. This will display the data present on your mobile. Simply navigate to the MIUI 7.zip file which you’ve downloaded earlier and select it. On the next screen select ‘Yes’ option to start the ROM flashing process.
Step 7: After the installation completes successfully, again wipe data and cache partitions as you did in Step 4.
Note: This step is essential to fix bootloop issues.
Step 8: Similarly flash Google Apps zip file as you have installed the MIUI ROM.
Note: Do not wipe data and cache partitions after installing GApps file.
Step 9: That’s it. Simply click on ‘reboot system now’ option to restart your Samsung Galaxy Core 2 smartphone.
