Pre-Requisites:

  • Rooting will void your device warranty. But don’t worry it can be easily regained back by un-rooting you device.
  • Backup all your data including Contacts, SMS/MMS, call logs, notes, APN settings and copy it somewhere for safety. This is necessary as all the data gets wiped at the end of this procedure.

Step 1: Download all the above files in a specific folder on your computer. Now you need to boot your device in downloading mode. For that firstly switch off your device completely. Downloading mode can be entered by holding Home button + Volume Down key + Power button simultaneously until the Download mode appears. Keeping the phone in download mode, you need to connect it to computer.

Step 2: Now open Odin Multi Downloader which you have just downloaded on your PC. As soon as you open it, the ID:COM section in it will turn yellow. If it is not showing, then you must check that proper device drivers are installed on your PC. You can install them from the Samsung Kies CD which you’ve got at the time of purchase.

Step 3: On the Odin Downloader, click on the OPS tab and select ‘BENI_v1.0.ops’ file which you have downloaded before.

Step 4: Then tick the ‘One Package’ option. As soon as you tick it, the One Package option at the bottom will get highlighted. So click that One Package option and select ‘beni_cwm-5_ext4_v2’ file which you have downloaded before. Remember not to tick or un-tick any other option on the Odin Multi Downloader.

Step 5: After completing everything as mentioned above, simply press the Start button located on the Odin window to initiate the process. Your phone will automatically reboot itself while going through the process. It is recommended not to remove the USB cable until the process completes.

Step 6: Wait until the process finishes. It will hardly take 5-10 minutes to complete it. As soon as it completes, you’ll see the ID:COM section on the Odin window is turned blue with the message ‘Pass’ below it. Now you can safely remove the USB cable.

Note: If the process fails or if Odin gets stuck or in case your device gets boot loops, then don’t panic. Just close the Odin window, remove the battery from phone and re-insert it. Again go into downloading mode and follow the same procedure as given above.

Step 7: Next, boot your device into recovery mode by holding Home button (Middle button) and Power button simultaneously until the recovery mode appears. You’ll notice that Clockworkmod Custom recovery is installed on your device.

Step 8: Now select ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ followed by ‘Wipe Cache partition’.
