Update Galaxy Note 10+ to Android 10 Q firmware

Finally, Samsung has rolled out a stable Android 10 update especially for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus smartphone. At first, it was the Galaxy Note 10+ Verizon and LTE variant, which received this latest Android update. And now Galaxy Note 10+ Indian version is updated as well. Most important, this Android Q update comes with One UI 2.0 and build number N975FXXU1BSL7 with the latest December 2019 security patch.

Requirements

  • Take a complete backup of your phone data and settings.
  • Install Samsung USB drivers on PC to detect your phone when connected via USB cable.
  • (Optional) Temporary disable all the security tools as well as antivirus on your PC.

Steps to install Android 10 on Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus

  • Extract the downloaded zip file on your PC.
  • Then switch off your device and restart it into downloading mode.
  • For that, press and hold the Volume Down button + Power Button simultaneously.
  • Leave both the keys and simply press the Volume Up key to continue.
  • Go ahead and connect your phone to the PC via USB cable.
  • Open the ‘Odin3-v3.13.1′ flash tool.
  • Then, confirm whether the ID: COM section turns light blue or not. Also, verify whether an Added message appears or not.
  • If such a thing doesn’t happen, that means your phone is not recognized by the PC.
  • For that, fix the USB device not recognized error on your computer.
  • Check Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options now.
  • Now tap on the BL button and browse and select the ‘BL’ file from the extracted firmware.
  • Similarly, add CP and HOME_CSC files.
  • Next, click on the CSC button and open the firmware file with ‘HOME_CSC’ in its name.
  • HOME_CSC contains the instruction that allows Odin to only wipe cache while Normal CSC contains an instruction to wipe out complete data. But when a downgrade is done (example: from Q back to Nougat) a factory reset is a must. So use normal CSC at that time.
  • At last, click the AP tab and open the ‘AP’ file from the extracted firmware.
  • It will take little time to load. Hence wait.
  • Let’s initiate Galaxy Note 10 Plus Android 10 firmware flashing process now.
  • Hence, simply press the Start button on Odin software.
  • This will start the Android 10 Galaxy Note 10 Plus firmware flashing process.
  • Your phone will automatically reboot now.
  • Do not disconnect it from the PC.
  • As soon as the flashing completes, the ID: COM section will show a Pass message.
  • This will confirm that your Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus SM-N975F is successfully upgraded to official Android 10 Q N975FXXU1BSL7 firmware.
  • If Odin fails, then close it, again boot your phone into download mode and repeat the process.
