MediaTek MT6893 defeats Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 in the recent AnTuTu test. The majority of Android users prefer Qualcomm over any other chipset in their devices. This is because they give better performance as well as good battery optimization.
Moreover, they always use the latest and fast ARM CPU cores. Whereas, MediaTek uses the standard ARM CPU cores without any modifications. Apart from that, Qualcomm also uses Adreno graphics technology that makes it top the GPU benchmark results.
This is the main reason why the Android smartphones with Qualcomm chipset are more expensive than the phones with Exynos, Kirin, and MediaTek. But this does not mean that they are the best chipset manufacturers in the market.
In recent times, the MediaTek chipsets are performing a lot better in power consumption as compared to Qualcomm. Besides, plenty of Qualcomm Snapdragon users have complained about the heating issues along with an immediate battery drain problems.
Earlier, the Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek was only involved with the mid-range and budget-friendly smartphones and tablets. But it seems that they are slowly taking over the market with their new high-performance gaming chipsets.
MediaTek is releasing chip after chip with a plan to defeat Qualcomm in the smartphone SoC segment. The company recently confirmed to come up with various groundbreaking chips in the coming year. They are all set to edge out the dominance of Qualcomm.
MediaTek MT6893 defeats Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 in the AnTuTu test
According to a recent AnTuTu benchmark, the new MediaTek MT6893 6nm chipset defeats the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. It is absolutely shocking news as the MediaTek MT6893 has crushed every other chipset in the market.
In terms of overall score, GPU, and memory performance, the MediaTek MT6893 defeats Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, Exynos 1080, and Kirin 9000. There was only a small drop in the CPU ratings. But the rest of the results are unexpected and surprising.
MediaTekMT6893 scores 622409 in the AnTuTu test. Kirin 9000, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, and Exynos 1080 scores 693605, 611419, and 693600 respectively. Talking about the specifications, the MediaTek MT6893 has a similar configuration as the Exynos 1080.
To be specific, it comes with four Cortex-A78 CPU cores. Moreover, the maximum capacity of the primary core is up to 3 GHz. Whereas, the other three cores have a maximum range up to 2.6 GHz.It has surprised us with an excellent Dimensity1000+ performance and 5G connectivity.
Besides, the MediaTekMT6893 comes with a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU that has proved slightly faster in the Geekbench report. Due to this, Qualcomm might retire Snapdragon 865 by 2021. Apart from its capacity, the company has also announced to release it for mid-range devices.
This will majorly impact the rival companies. The company is all set to launch a better chipset with a flagship-like performance. They have not yet announced the release date but it might be at the start of 2021.
Due to these surprising MediaTek MT6893 results, many users might migrate from Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series to the MediaTek MT6893. Most importantly, users will not only get a better performance but also an affordable price tag. As per a recent report, Samsung is apparently teaming up with Oppo and Xiaomi to bring ExynosSoC in some of their handsets.
